John Denver, a singer-songwriter from Colorado that specialized in folk pop music has touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado and moved to Aspen. More than a few people traveled to Colorado following the Denver's cult songs for his home state. G. Brown the curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared the following: John Denver was by far one of the most popular artists who represented Colorado. In the year 2011, Denver was named the first Hall of Fame inductee. Today, he is the international face of Colorado. When I travel, I always meet someone from the other side of the world someone who is from New Zealand and you say 'I'm originally from Colorado and the first thing they say is Oh John Denver! Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's top 10 hit following a performance with a small folk music bands. It was co-written by and produced by Bill Danoff. Danoff had Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the track, however Denver realized that it could become a smash hit when the song was first heard by him. After performing to an excited audience on the streets of Washington D.C., the artist recorded the song.
