The father of Bea was Brian was a vet for horses who committed suicide aged three. She didn't discover the reason of death until 13 years later. The stage name she chose was Bea to honor her deceased father. She also wrote a 2017 article in The Guardian on her family's suicide story. Bea was raised alongside her younger sister Sinead by Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary teacher, jockey trainer and former professional racer.
